Audrey, Clifford, and the Bailey family would welcome the opportunity to offer you our hospitality for bed and breakfast, with optional dinner. We are off the beaten track at Thoralby in mid-Wensleydale.

Our friendly, personal attention is given to each and every guest and no effort is spared to make your stay a pleasant one.

Pen View Guest House is a small family run establishment deep in the heart of Wensleydale. The house has a lovely position overlooking Pen Hill and Bishopdale, within the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Accommodation

The guest rooms are centrally heated, with tea/coffee making facilities and wash handbasins. Some rooms are en-suite with colour TV. Single, double, twin and family rooms are available.

The lounge with log fire and colour television is available all day, if required. This is an ideal room for guests to get together.

Breakfast and Optional Dinner

We offer a high standard of home cooking using our own fresh vegetables whenever possible. Meals are served in a delightful dining room, with panoramic views and a relaxing atmosphere in which to enjoy your food, complemented by our choice of refreshments.

Local Attractions and Activities

Thoralby is a typical quiet Dales farming community with a Post Office/General Store for everyday needs (also offering cycle hire) and a Village Inn serving traditional beer & bar meals.

Local activities include trout fishing in season, riverside and fellside walks, or more strenuous walks for the hardy individuals. We are only 20 minutes walk from Aysgarth Falls. Easily visited by car are many well known beauty spots such as Bolton Castle, Hardraw Scar, and Lake Semerwater.

Pen View, situated between Hawes and Leyburn on the A684, deep in Herriot Country, is ideally situated for touring the surrounding area and Wensleydale, famous for its delicious cheese. Coverdale, Swaledale, Wharfedale and Dentdale are all within easy reach. For rail enthusiasts the Settle to Carlisle line, with its magnificent scenery, should not be missed during your stay. The historic towns of Skipton, Richmond and Middleham offer interest for everyone.
