Traditional coaching inn offering real ales, good food and accommodation near Aysgarth Falls in Wensleydale
Description
In the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, this former coaching inn is surrounded by the stunning scenery of Bishopdale, close to the village of West Burton in Upper Wensleydale, and Aysgarth Falls. With original features such as the oak and elm exposed beams, huge open fireplace and feature window, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Street Head Inn is the perfect base for exploring historic Wensleydale and The Yorkshire Dales National Park, both touring and walking.
Real Ales
Open every session for ale, there are three real ales to choose from - Theakstons, John Smiths and Black Sheep - together with a good selection of lagers, wines, spirits, cider, stout and soft drinks.
Good Food
Superb food is served daily at lunch (12-2pm) and dinner (6-9pm). Booking is required at weekends. The varied menu offers a comprehensive range of meat, poultry, fish and vegetarian dishes to suit all tastes. Our food is well renowned with both locals and tourists alike.
En-suite Accommodation
The inn also boasts five recently refurbished ensuite guest bedrooms. Each is decorated and furnished to the highest standards of comfort and quality, with a real home-from-home feel, enhanced by the lovely quilts and traditional features in each room. These rooms are available all year round.
Bunkhouse accommodation for groups
Only 150 metres from The Street Head Inn, The Old Bunkhouse is a self-catering bunkhouse with full central heating. There is a well equipped kitchen with a microwave, a fridge, a freezer & dishwasher. All cooking utensils are provided.
We have 20 beds available in 3 rooms with 4 beds and 1 room with 8. All bedding is provided but you will have to bring your own towel and wash kit.
The bunkhouse has a common room with comfortable seating & ample dining seats for 20 people. There is a TV provided in the dining/common room, with books, cards and board games for the evenings. This large, welcoming room is the ideal meeting point for groups and individuals staying at the bunkhouse.
Other facilities include a drying room, cycle store, barbeque, laundry services, lockers, luggage store, and family rooms. There is ample parking available.
